For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the quiet beauty that exists in simple things.
A bird rising into the open sky.
A horizon stretching further than the eye can see.
A moment of stillness that gently reminds us that life is bigger than whatever we may be facing today.
I love to seek out the beauty that can always be found in hope.
There have been seasons in my own life where hope felt very distant, where things felt so uncertain and unknown, where I have just wanted to give up, and where the path ahead seemed so unclear.
Yet time and time again I have discovered that hope has a quiet way of revealing itself — often in the smallest and simplest moments. A tiny spark of life can be all that's needed to change how we feel, what we do next or how we see things.
It can be the gentle whisper that encourages us to keep going, to keep believing, to keep dreaming.
A patch of open sky.
A bird in flight.
A sense that freedom still exists beyond the horizon.
That is where much of my art begins.

Many of the pieces I create carry open space, sky, and birds in flight. They are intentionally minimal, leaving room to breathe.
In a world that can often feel crowded, noisy, and heavy, I want each piece to offer something different — a moment of quiet, a sense of openness, a reminder that the spirit was created to rise.
When someone places one of these pieces on their wall, it becomes more than artwork. It becomes a daily reminder.
A reminder that beauty can always be found in hope. A reminder that, even in the midst of life’s seasons, our pursuit of freedom — whatever that may look like to us — is more than a dream, it is real and worth holding on to.
THE
FREEDOM COLLECTION
The Freedom Collection is a series of striking, minimalist pieces with each piece beginning as a quiet impression — a passing feeling, a memory or something sensed beneath the surface.
The first sparks and impressions that come to me are usually captured in a notepad, where simple words and rough ideas become the early map of the work to come.
From there, I build through a mixed media process, blending photography and digital design. Bird silhouettes often appear within the compositions, carrying themes of freedom, distance, hope, and the unseen journey we all travel.
Exploring colour, I move through shades and tones patiently, searching for the one that holds the right atmosphere — the exact mood or story the piece is asking to carry. The work is regularly printed throughout the process, stepping back to study the colours, balance, and composition until it fully reflects what I set out to express.
Each palette is intentionally restrained, allowing space and silence to have their place. In that simplicity, the work can breathe. What remains is not clutter, but feeling — a moment of movement, meaning, and wonder held in stillness.

ABOUT CHRISTOPHER JOSEPH

Christopher Joseph is a mixed media artist most recognised for his profound and moving minimalistic artwork.
Originally from Cardiff, Wales, it wasn’t until after university that Christopher discovered his love for creating art when he moved to Dublin as a musician. A chance moment during a walk among the Irish hillsides uncovered an eye for photography when he took a few shots with a friend’s camera.
This was soon followed by a solo road trip around southern Iceland which served to crucially begin a journey of exploring various artistic mediums and the eventual discovery of minimalist and abstract expression through mixed media, acrylic and graphite.
This in turn led to exhibitions and his artwork now sits in the homes of people around the world, helping to share the message of the hope and freedom we are all knowingly or unknowingly looking for.
Christopher believes in art for all, not just art for people who can afford the luxury, and freely gives away his Art Prints.
His goal is for his artwork to reach as many people as possible, and to be a reminder that beauty can always be found in hope. And that, even in the midst of life’s seasons, our pursuit of freedom — whatever that may look like — is more than a dream, it is a reality worth pursuing.
